Back to School!

Hello readers!

Tomorrow I, Eun, go back to school! It's been a long/short break but I am now ready to go! My brain and body is well rested to plunge back into work (we'll see if I feel the same way in about two weeks). What about you? Are you back at school? What are you learning? Hi all!

It was a very exciting day yesterday! I met up with Ashley for coffee in town and saw the first set of sketches! They are absolutely gorgeous! I am posting a couple of pictures! The puzzle is what Ashley got for me as a holiday gift so no confusion intended! Enjoy and stay put for more progress!

Hello everyone!

I apologize for being MIA - there has been a lot going on! Ashley is working on the pages and I get to review them soon! :) So for you patient folks out there, here is sample of my writing:

The kitchen

Eunyup Yeom

I see

the pot on the stove boiling with anger and

a welcoming bowl of rice waiting to greet the family home.

The spotless counters

wiped clean with so much care.

The steaming stew over the fire

waiting to feed the hungry children.

A dining table topped with warm colored candles,

the heat of the hot food, inviting all members to sit down.

Steam swirls up and dances in the air

to the family’s delight.

A fire set in place for them to enjoy

with a meal and each other.

The children laugh and food is passed from one side to the other.

Briefly I am

in this moment;

tasting the food

smelling the candles

feeling the warmth of the fire

listening to stories of the day.

But only briefly.

Reality.

There is a blockade between us:

this thin piece of glass.

The difference between me and them.

Howdy!

I hope you all had a wonderful day as usual and I would like to thank you for visiting our blog and for those of you who are keeping tabs, THANK YOU. It would also be great if you could also hit the "follow" button so it will give us some physical followers for stats. Aside from the formalities, I just wanted to share another fun something with you all! I was getting ready for my tutoring session tomorrow and had to read the Three Little Pigs that I had assigned to my student. Might I say here that it was a very different Three Little Pigs from what I am familiar with. It's weird when you come across something you think you know so well and it being super different, no? Well, you should definitely give it a glance and tell me what you think. Is this the original story you know of or different? Pretty colors!

Hi again!

My mom is making food (dumpling soup, korean shishakabe, and etc) for church tomorrow and she's using a lot of vegetables. The vegetables all emitted such pretty colors and I just had to share! Meanwhile, Ashley is hard at work with the many pages of this book!

I hope the weather is treating you all well! We are hard at work on our book and we wanted to give you guys a shout out! I want to share my favorite picture book/illustrator . . . her name is Helen Oxenbury and she illustrated We Are Going On A Bear Hunt by Micheal Rosen.
